View Full Version : Is AV finished?

I don't mean this in any disrespectful way, because he's been a great Colt. As far as I can remember, he never missed an important kick with the game on the line.
But he had some less than professional moments this season (thinking about the kick in the Dolphins game) and 20 yard FG miss and extra point miss today. Nobody beats father time.
Going forward, stay with him another year? Or look for a new kicker? I'd like to see him win the super bowl one more time and then retire, but maybe it's time to be real.

Just a bad day for a lot of players. No need to panic but training camp competition is always welcome.

I think AV will announce his retirement. He's the GOAT already and has nothing more to gain. Gimmick is a troll, so call him out when he appears

Is he nearing any milestones? Id say it’s 50/50 at this point. His contract is up but I’d like to see him on board for one last hurrah next year.

We win as a team, and we lose as a team.
Luck sucked today, Vinatieri sucked today, and Erik Ebron had a huge 3rd down drop on the Colts' first offensive series of the game ........ and I would take all 3 of them back next season.
The players had coach Reich's back after the controversial decision that he made against the Texans early in the season, and they will all have each other's back's after the suckful game that they played today ........ just like they did after the horrible 6-0 loss to the Jaguars in early December put them in a must-win situation for the remainder of the season.

The thread is reasonable, the poster is not.
His posts in today's game thread (after the Colts were down by a score of 14-0) were his first posts since November 11th ........ just a coincidence, I'm sure.

I hadn't seen that name in so long I almost forgot about it. I won't hesitate to call them out

He's only finished if we find a better replacement...which we probably won't. So no.

That would be the best way for the Colts to approach it and be upfront with him about that. He at most has a couple of seasons left, so moving on to the next kicker now is not the worst thing ever, but first you got to find that guy.

Neither snap was perfect. Might have been just enough to throw him off.

Vinatieri's a big boy. I respect whatever decision he makes. If he thinks today was an outlier and he thinks he has more in the tank then by all means we should welcome him back with open arms. And if he walks away then that is that. Send him the nice watch in the mail with the certificate thanking him for his 50 years of service.

I have felt for a while this might be his last season. I wont be upset either way he decides. Great career, great colt. I am glad he has played longer for us then the pats.

He’ll retire eventually. Still wouldn’t want anyone else kicking a big kick.

Morten Andersen’s record for most games played total and oldest player in NFL history would both take him through the 2020 season.
Prior to today I would’ve said that was entirely feasible

I suspect he will return for one more season, maybe two.
