Huh? Was not expecting that with Doyle out for the rest of the year.
Getting thin at pass catching options.

I guess that means that Mo Alie-Cox is ready to return to practice & games. Hopefully that is the case.
Holder also indicated that Swoope hasn't been healthy (knee injury) and has been limited all season.

Well, he only had 8 receptions for the season, but he made them count ........ 3 of them were for touchdowns.

Apparently the Colts think that Allie-Cox is the better blocker and he's passed Swoope on the depth chart.
Yeah, Swoope will revert to the PS, but his constant knee problems are a concern. Probably would not expect to see him around next season.

Good kid, but yeah, unless Ebron is hurting, it's redundant to carry an athletic TE who can't block. Alie-Cox affords you a bit more playbook.
Next year will be interesting. I think the Colts are still high on Ross Travis, but after the overall blocking drop-off with Doyle out, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a H-B/FB/TE with more upside than Hewitt.

This surprised me also... weird.

In my wildest football dreams, there will be a Super Bowl rematch 9 years after the fact, with Swoope having played for both teams during the season.

Lol....Big Joe made a comment this morning that as many times as he's gone on and off the roster, the colts NEVER take his name off his locker. This signals to the player that this is just roster churn and not a desire to let them go.

I don't know what's wrong with me.
I'm a Colts fan dreaming of his above-average team making the postseason, and then making an improbable run to the Super Bowl ....... that's some crazy shit there that should never cross anyone's mind.

Saints claimed him off waivers.
And now 24 hours later, the Saints released him. He is back on the waiver wire.

Earlier this summer, it was reported Fleener was still suffering from lingering effects from his last concussion.

That sucks, wish him well. No one should have to put up with that doing something they love.

Not sure where the Saints are on the waiver wire, but they may have put a claim on him to prevent someone else from doing it, and then decided that he did not impress when paired with the team, so they cut him. Just grasping at straws here.

The corresponding move was promoting LB Ahmad Thomas from the practice squad to the active roster.

The Colts today signed TE Erik Swoope back to their Practice Squad.
I believe it is extra insurance in case Ebron has trouble with the concussion protocol procedures.
Of course, the corresponding move was to release Phillip Walker from the PS.

I am actually surprised that Swoope can go on the practice squad.
He has a lot of game experience. I am not clear on what the eligibility rules for the PS are but I thought that lots of game time made one ineligable.
