Dan Dakich just interviewed Ballard.....most of it was not particularly noteworthy....mostly stuff we've all heard before so I won't summarize it. There was one thing though that stuck with me. Dakich asked the obligatory question re: Ballard's assessment of where Luck is but he asked him to evaluate him relative to "elite" top 5 QB standards and asked about accuracy and power. Ballard started his answer by reminding us that he's never seen healthy Andrew play before in his tenure w/the Colts.......He said that Andrew's accuracy (right now) is absolutely at elite top 5 level and he said it's amazing to watch.....he genuinely sounded a bit in awe when he said it. He spoke about his vision and also his ability to accurately drop a ball into tight coverage. His assessment is that has all come back rapidly and is where we need it to be and it's a huge competitive advantage. Relative to velocity/power of his throw he said he's "good" but he's not elite yet. It was cute...he sounded like a little boy who was enthusiastic about his new toy.

Apparently Ballard said that they’ve asked Braden Smith to play RT?

"We've asked (Braden) Smith to play right tackle."
- Chris Ballard #Colts @dandakich
I started listening only after I saw that tweet as it piqued my interest, but can you add any context to it?

Sorry. I got a phone call early in the interview so I must have missed that I didn't hear any discussion of the oline.

I wondered if they might try him at tackle. He is fairly versatile and we need a long term answer there.

Fro what I get from it he was "asked" This was while almost every tackle on the team was not available. I do not think and hope he is not the plan for the RT, except as utility. I hope he is the RG of the future.
