It had to be done, but I don't have any ill will towards Chuck Pagano. He just wasn't a good head coach. This organization is at a crossroads now. I just hope the next cast of coaches and players can get us back to what we were in the good old days. It feels to me that we're on a razor's edge from disaster right now.

For the past 2 seasons I've had hopes that Pagano would be fired, only to be disappointed with Irsay for keeping him another year. This year has to be the year Irsay finally pulls the trigger, and then we can officially start the rebuild which will be expedited if Luck is healthy.

I'm kinda familiar with these in that I use Kodi on my PC. Don't the jailbroken firesticks lose functionality every few months when links to content are changed or broken? I know my PC stuff went down a month ago when the "Covenant" links were removed/deactivated.

Out of Jack Doyle's 79 receptions so far this season, 39 of them (49%) have been for either a first down conversion or a touchdown.

And out of those 39, 15 of them have come on either 3rd or 4th down.

Plus, that drive in which they just scored a touchdown on just now would have resulted in a 3-and-out had Doyle not made a very good catch on a ball that was thrown very low on 3rd down when the Colts were still deep in their own territory.

Jack "Clutch" Doyle.

Also, keep in mind that the Colts still have all 3 of their timeouts left.

Pagano may choose to use them, instead of letting them go to waste.

If you take away his 2 missed field goals in snowy and extremely windy Buffalo 3 weeks ago, Adam Vinatieri's field goal percentage for the season is above 90% (31-for-34, 91.2 %.)

Considering those circumstances, I think that Irsay should give him the $500,000 bonus that he would have gotten for having at least a 90% success ratio.

Yes.

That, and the fact that he has been by far the greatest and most clutch kicker in the Colts' 65-year franchise history since 1953.

His 54-yard field goal today alone was a major factor in Pagano-proofing today's win.

No, that is actually very smart in terms of seeing the forest for the trees/the big picture.

$500,000 isn't going to break Irsay and/or make a significant difference in his overall finances, and it would be excellent for publicity and/or of showing good faith and appreciation for an extremely clutch and beloved Colts player that will undoubtedly join Jan Stenerud and Morten Anderson as the only pure kickers to make it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame 6 after he retires.

I know that he that he didn't actually earn the bonus to the letter of the law. Granted that these 2 situations have several significant difference in terms of the actual circumstances.

Comiskey choosing to not give Cicotte his bonus back then was a lot more mean-spirited and underhanded than if Irsay were to choose to do the same and not give Vinatieri his bonus now ........ but the general idea is the same.
