In my opinion next year we have the following returning that I would be willing to keep

Tackle AC

Guard, Mewhort, Haig, Good

Center Kelley, Present backup (forgot his name).

We need a Tackle. I am not comfortable relying on Good or Haig to play that position.

As I understand it there are no Tackles really available as FA, but there are guards we could sign.

I would say that Nelson and Williams are equal as players. Why would be take the guard over the Tackle.

Bottom Line I say that we draft Williams ahead of Nelson if he is healthy.

Good should only be a tackle unless an emergency.

And you are right. Taking a guard with our pick is dumb

We got fooled into thinking the O Line would be ok last year too?

There is one OT possibly going to free agency to sign and that is Nate Solder from NE drafted in the same 1st round the same year we drafted 'stanzo.

NE has very little cap space next year but also only has 2 quality starters to re-sign: Solder and Malcolm Butler. Both will be $10m a year guys. Cheats will have to cut or restructure folks to get even one of them plus have space to do anything else.

If he hits free agency, I would make him crazy welk paid and have him and 'stanzo battle it out for LT with the loser sliding to RT.

The only other 2 names are Greg Robinson (underachiver; don't want) and Byron Bell whom was out all or 2016 on IR and depth for DAL in 2017. If fully recovered, Bell might be an option as he won a full rime gig as an undrafted rookie.

No one else has the superior starter experience I think we need to be looking for.

I keep hearing that Solder sucks. But he’s better than any tackle on this roster except Castonzo. We have big cap money and there aren’t many great free agents available in FA. So yeah I’d take him. And Andrew Norwell from Carolina. If the Panthers don’t get him signed Ballard should give him the money that should’ve gone to one of the top guards from last offseason. Those two and a functioning offensive system would go a long way toward protecting Luck and opening holes for our RBs.

Justin Pugh is another FA tackle if look at. Younger than Solder.
