Riley Leonard is starting this week, I’m actually excited to see it and hopefully he can be our QB of the future

There’s almost zero chance he’ll be any good but this was the only option. Have to find out for sure.

I think that there's a chance that Leonard will play well this Sunday, primarily because he did play well when he was thrown into the most difficult of situations against the Jaguars after Daniel Jones went down with a torn Achilles tendon ...... I thought that Leonard played better than his stats showed in that game ...... I thought that he was robbed of a TD by the refs, and I also think that the refs robbed him by charging him with an INT instead of a completed pass on a simultaneous reception by the Colts' receiver and the Jaguars' defender.
Taking into consideration everything that happened prior to him entering that game, I thought that Leonard actually played well for a rookie QB with no experience coming into a pressure-packed game on the road in which the team was already significantly behind on the scoreboard ...... plus, as I previously stated, I thought that the referees did him no favors.
All of that said, I'm not claiming that he will play well this Sunday against the Texans ...... I'm asserting that there is a chance that he will play well.

I like it, even though I suspect he is bad at football. We already know AR is bad at football. At least my curiosity will be satisfied. Hopefully he shocks us. I still think the smart long term solution is signing Jones. He proved he is still capable before the leg, then the achilles.

Yep we certainly need to know if we need to be looking for a backup QB to step in while Danny rehabs. In draft or FA
I think AR is moved this offseason Hopefully we can get at least a 4 but doubt it

It seems odd that they're not starting Richardson, and seems like as good of an indication as any that the organization plans to move on from him entirely.

I get the sense that he’s not completely healthy yet. From what I gather, he very nearly lost his eye.

That's what I've taken from the whole cleared-to-workout thing. Like, you can do squats now and your eyeball won't leave.
Doesn't mean you can go straight to getting tackled again.

I have always been complimentary of Richardson's toughness, grit, and his willingness to put his shoulder down and take on linebackers in crucial situations.
Others have mocked Richardson because of his injuries, saying that he was made of glass ...... now we're just hoping that he's not going to need a glass eye for the rest of his life.

Exactly what Stephen Holder just said on the radio,
He believes they’re done with Richardson and he’ll be traded next year

AR says he's healthy. The team has never said that. If AR were to get hurt Sunday. He would be on IR for the offseason. I think they want to move him. I really like his potential and I wanted him at 4.
But enough is enough.
Maybe they can pull of a trade with the Ravens and get Lamar. Who I wanted the Colts to push hard for.
We'll probably end up with Tua. I would HATE that HATE it.
WIth Jim gpne. I know everyone says he didnt interfer. But just this yr moves were made. Big one. Which is why I am not on board to get rid of any yet.
Lets run it back
Maybe we trade AR to the Browns for Deshawn and a 1st and then we can Osweiler him.

They ain’t getting anything for AR. He’s clearly done in Indy. Why would anyone trade for a guy the Colts will eventually release anyway?

If not I keep him on the roster until a team gets needy.

You’d have to create, at least, an illusion that there’s interest in him. You’d have to convince some schmuck that, if he doesn’t move on a trade, someone else will pounce.
Failing that, you hope that someone takes a bird in the hand view. Better to give the Colts something for him rather than see him enter free agency and sign somewhere else.

You'd have to believe he can be productive before you traded for him. The Colts will/should keep him for his last year. If the injury bug hits next year like this year, he could get a shot. If he produces, you might get something for him. If he does not, you'd get the same for him as you would now. This talk about getting a 3rd or 4th round draft pick for him? Come on people, would you be ok if the Colts gave up a 3rd or 4th for Zach Wilson?

This makes the most sense. Low probability of hitting but not zero. If not then you can deal with it then. There are seemingly really no alternatives available to DJ this year.

Do you follow football? It happens, it will not be for much, but teams will trade other assets or low picks to not compete on contracts and players' choice to get them. Busts get traded often.

Ballard was able to trade Carson Wentz

There is always a coach who thinks he can fix a player. Kind of like a woman who thinks she can fix an abusive man.

Guessing we'll be able to get a 6th or 7th rounder for AR IF his vision fully returns. Not so sure that's the case based on what the Colts and AR have said about his vision.
Also, interested to see how Leonard looks w/ a full week of preparation.

From my everything that I have ever read and heard, women are usually trapped in abusive relationships rather than being in them to fix the abuser ..... they are unable to leave either for economic reasons and/or because they are afraid that their abusive partner will kill them if they leave.

From what I have observed, that is true of some of them. However, othrs go from one abusive asshole to another one.

This was a very serious injury to his orbit, which the eye sits in. AR has no future in the NFL if this doesn't clear up. There is not a hell of a lot that can be done, it either clears up or it doesn't. Shitty for the young man.

No doubt. It sucks for him, and I definitely feel sorry for him.
My post was based on the vagueness of the comments from both Steichen and AR, which points to it being at best an unknown if his vision will fully clear up or not.

See, I wouldn’t mind Tua. I think Shane could get a hell of a lot out of a guy like Tua.
It’ll never happen but I wouldn’t hate it if it did.

After 2 weeks of being back at practice, Anthony Richardson says he's still struggling with one of the most basic parts of being a QB & it's likely why he won't be active in the season-finale.
"The toughest part for me right now is catching the snap."
