This team is not as bad as the current score would lead you to believe, however they were never as good as their 7 and 1 record against weaker competition was championed by many of you Colts fans back then. Their final record will be what most of us felt it would be when asked at seasons' beginning what we thought. DJ is a good but not great QB, the OL is good but has absolutely no depth, the DL is without a pass rush, the linebackers are not good at all, the DBs are decent but without a pass rush, they can't play press coverage. You have two studs on offense JT and Tyler Warren.

Even when totally healthy, this would be a good but not great team. Also, I believe Steichen is not a good play caller.

The season was over when they lost last week. I said they’d lose 31-17 so I was slightly off on the score but I knew they weren’t winning in Jacksonville.

If, like me, you believe Jones isn’t the long term answer, today’s events, as much as they suck, are better for the long term health of the team.

For one, it makes it less likely that they sign Jones to a big money long term deal, which I think would be a huge mistake. Also, they at least get to see what they have in Leonard, as much of a long shot as that is.

Also, it takes some of the sting out of what was going to be a collapse anyway.

I was never on the Jones is the man wagon, but I also understood he wasn't the biggest problem. Who knows with Leonard. He didn't have a horrible game while he was in. I'm sure they scaled the playbook back a lot. Hell, Brady was a late round pick, Purdy was a late round pick. Get him some practice with the 1's and open up the playbook and see if he can do it. Only way to truly find out. Until our defense figures out how to get off the field we are stuck in mediocrity. Might as well see what we have. If he ain't it, or doesn't look like he might be it, then pay Daniels a mid tier QB salary and move on past the not having any first round picks for the next two years.

I didn’t even watch today, because I knew they were going to lose. I didn’t expect the Jones injury but, as I said, as much as it sucks, it’s probably a net positive for the franchise.

Now I can relax on the couch with some bourbon and watch impassively.

That is a tough question, I agree with your reasoning....I despise the Texans, I only hate the Chiefs, but I abhor the Jaguars...so no matter who wins I'm screwed! You are right though, seeing the Texans win the division would be better than seeing the Jaguars win it.

To answer my question form earlier, YES, Monday Night Football games can be flexed between weeks 12 and 17. They are replaced by more interesting/important Sunday afternoon games, but must be notified of the change within 12 days of the game(s).
So we'll see if the 49ers vs Colts gets flexed.
