Agreed, to a certain extent. HOF coach, HOF QB, HOF TE, HOF DT, in a road game in most probably the loudest stadium in the NFL.

Still the Colts can play better, and must play better against good teams. Sometimes, I think that Steichen and and Jones wanna play the smartest dude in the room game, when just taking the easy completions is the right answer.

I know CBS kept trotting out that stat, but to some extent, it was glib, considering that…

They lost 2 close games in Buffalo and Denver the past 2 weeks,, played without Rashee Rice for the first 6 games of the year, and were without Xavier Worthy for the first 3.

In their last 3 game stretch of home games, once Mahomes had an intact Receiving corps, they beat Detroit, Washington and the Raiders. by a combined 63 points.

You underestimate the Chiefs at your folly.

Let's look at this a different way. For this exercise, I'm going to count the Berlin game as a road game because I don't care if the Colts got the gate, I care if the game is played in Indy or not. The Colts are currently 5-0 at home and 3-3 on the road. That is fairly common for contending teams: they're dominant at home and competitive on the road. As long as they maintain their winning ways at home and grab 1 or 2 of the last 3 wins on the road, they will be in contention for the 1 seed. What happens from there, well, that's the playoffs. Every game there is win or go home. What happens from there depends on what version of the team shows up for each game.

The Steelers dominated the offense, with the assistance of a few lucky bounces, primarily Payton Wilson playing the wrong zone and being rewarded for it and Payton Wilson batting a pass that just so happened to fall right into Jack Sawyer's hands. Change those two plays, and IMO the game goes the Colts' way. The Chiefs game is on Steichen's playcalling, and that's what concerns me the most. I hope that in future high pressure situations, he won't just abandon the run.

First of all he and Steichen seemed tied at the hip, he spends all his time supposedly working on the game plan with Stiechen but apparently has no input once the game starts, has no ability to change the play at the line of scrimmage and just gets only one play to choose from. This cannot be true, if it is we are screwed going forward. I guess I am to fucking old but I can guarantee Unitas or Manning wouldn't have sat there and run plays sent in if they felt there was a better option. I remember Unitas saying you need a feel for the game that only people in the game have when calling plays. But then again those men were leaders

The Pittsburgh game was never in doubt. They scored a touchdown very late to make the final margin 7 points but that game was over at halftime.

They also played like crap against a bad Falcons team but managed to scrape out a win.

I will say they played better against a championship caliber Chiefs team coming off a bye, which is a reason for optimism.

But again, regardless of how you dress it up, they’re 1-2 in their last 3 games with their lone win coming against a 3 win Falcons team.

Houston does have a tough defense. They don’t have a great offense, though. With Stroud returning, they should be better on offense. Gonna be a tough game, but I think we can make their defense look worse than some teams have.
