Still can't run worth a shit. Oline is pure garbage in the run game.

Garbage RB doesn't help either lol

I know I keep harping on this, but this o-line just fucking sucks.

Special teams not doing much better.

Carrying players use to be illegal....it still is in High School!

Need a slow, methodical drive here and let Matty Gay win it.

I was thinking the same thing. They had the rb by the shoulders and carried him forward

They should have used him two other opportunities earlier

There’s the rookie mistake. He wanted that too bad

Well, there is the rookie in AR.

And just like that, despite what we watched all game... our D gives up 31 points and everyone will think they suck.

Hoopsdoc

Well this is what I expected. Let’s see how AR responds.

CletusPyle
09-10-2023, 04:01 PM
This was what I predicted....we would play close, have a chance to win, but let it slip away late in the game! This team is still better than I expected, they are going to compete and be in a lot of games this season!

BCN#1
09-10-2023, 04:02 PM
well we played them harder than I thought we would so still optimistic for upcoming games.

Jax scoring 14 points in 1:15 is disheartening. But I still have hope.

That was certainly a possibility too....now if we can get an onside kick we may still have a chance!

If the Colts kick 2 FGs instead of turning it over on downs twice, its a three point game

Mr. Session

We could have just kept Riech for awful fucking timeouts and stupid 4th down conversion attempts.

Yep. Anything positive this year is gravy. They were never going to seriously compete with a rookie quarterback.

This is about learning for the future.

No. AR ran out of bounds, goes down as a sack.

Oh well. Better than I expected them to look. I hope Richardson isn't hurt to bad. The future looks okay. Off to NFL Redzone.

Better than last year anyway

AR has got to learn to dial it down. He’s not gonna last like this.

Spike
09-10-2023, 04:21 PM
Running game outside of Richardson only gained 25 damn yards.

Hard for any QB to do jack shit with no running game let alone a rookie.

CletusPyle

We had chances to hit Lawrence that hard today, we didn't do it! Fuck the Faguars!

Jackson - 14
Funk - 10
Hull - 1

AR had 40

Yeah, the O-line is trash.

He started to look rushed at the end. Was resorting to his legs. Why he needs reps and experience.

I thought that Steichen went full Frank Reich at the end there ...... take the damn FG, and kick the on-side kick !!!

o

The only reason why I understand why they did that was because Richardson was tackled in-bounds with the clock running on 4th down, and the Colts only had 2 TO's left. If they had had 3 timeouts left, I would have run the FG unit out there to kick a field goal, and then kicked it deep and used my 3 timeouts on defense to try to get the ball back with about one full minute left ...... OR, if Richardson had been tackled out of bounds to stop the clock on 4th down and the Colts had had 2 timeouts left I would have sent out the FG unit (with the clock stopped) to cut the deficit to 7 points, then kicked it deep, used the 2 timeouts that I had remaining, and then gotten the ball back with about 50 to 55 seconds left to play.

Because of those circumstances that had occurred (Richardson being tackled in bounds on 4th down AND the fact that the Colts only had 2 timeouts left), I would not necessarily say that he went full Frank Reich on that particular sequence.

**********************************************

That said, I think that you you COULD question Steichen's brain-freeze in the 1st half when instead of challenging the bad spot on 3rd down deep in Jaguars territory, he rushed a play by the offense. The offensive line had no time to get set, and they were subsequently stopped cold by the Jaguars' defense. Steichen made TWO mistakes there .......

1) ) He did not challenge the bad spot.

2) ) Even if he had lost the challenge, the Colts' offense would have plenty of time to call a play on 4th and inches, and the offensive line would have had plenty of time to dig in and try to get their feet underneath them (something which they were not able to do because Steichen chose to instead try to rush the play on 4th down.)

He’s a rookie too. Going to be some growing pains there as well. Should have punted a couple times.

Not only that, but since we only had 2 TOs left we wouldn't have been able to keep them from running out the clock. So we should have used our TOs in the red zone instead of rushing things.

Twice by Allen. Two of his sacks were runs out of bounds

Yeah, I'm trying to remember if Walker's was, too. I remember Allen catching AR from behind. I don't remember Walker's.

Yeah, we have a rookie coach and a rookie quarterback. Anything good that happens is gravy.

I won’t be upset with 0 wins as long as AR develops.

Not too upset about the game. I guess if I had one complaint it would be that I would have preferred to see a little more aggression passing wise, but whatever, I get why it didn't really happen either.

A on the title

unfortunately colts lose to ugly ass trevor lawrence. dams favorite qb

AR has a decent day but a couple mistakes. 2 ints, one not his fault. 2 td's, 220 yards, another 40 on the ground and 53% completion rate

have at it ladies

other than completion percentage, i had this pretty much spot on
