Ok my list would be

Keep Saturday but get him a real offensive coordinator

Demeco Ryans

One of Shanahans assistants that sits around playing madden in his off time because that’s who has the best offenses in the league right now

Irsays list ….

Peyton Manning

Jeff Saturday

Rick Venturi

John Mellencamp

Chris Stapleton

1) Bruce Arians

2) Shane Steichen

3) DeMeco Ryans

Harbaugh would be my number 1 pick if I thought there was a chance in hell of him taking the job!

Kellen Moore should probably be added to the list.

I don't know much at all about that Dan Dakich guy but he apparently said his "sources" are telling him Irsay is going to bring Saturday & Ballard back. Not good news for Colts fans.

If true, expect Ryan to be back behind center as well!

Are people listing Saturday because they want him or because they think he’s a likely Irsay candidate?

Harbaugh has never shied away from taking jobs for programs that were in the dumps.

Stanford was 1-11 the year before he took over, and they were 12-1 and Orange Bowl champions in his 4th and final season there.

Perennial powerhouse Michigan was an unthinkable 5-7 the year before he got there, and he immediately got them a 10-3 record and a #11 ranking in his first season there. They had also lost to Ohio State 12 out of 14 times before Harbaugh got there ...... Michigan has won their last 2 meetings with the Buckeyes, each time advancing to the Division I-A College Football Playoff.

The 49ers were 6-10 the year before he got there in 2010, and hadn't had a winning season since 2002. In his first season there the 49ers made it to the NFC Championship game, and they made it to the Super Bowl in his second season with them.

I don't think that Harbaugh is coming here either, but it wouldn't be beyond him to take the challenge if he weren't already so well set up at his Alma Mater in Ann Arbor.

On Monday, I heard Kravitz tell JMV that his sources are saying Ballard will be back, also. Don’t know how good his sources are since he’s no longer at IndyStar but back in the day I thought they were good? He also said that Sean Payton wants no part of the shit show that is the colts.

The Saints will want compensation for him in the form of draft picks. We aren't doing that.

Fuck Sean Payton's Drew Brees coattail riding ass, I want no part of his shitshow. Get a Top 3 pick and see what Ballard can do with it. And get a competent coach, read not one of these fucking retreads everyone seems to be so desperate for all the time.

Dakich got fired. Today was his last show. I don't know what they'll replace his air time with, but it won't be Dan. I guess his political shit and bomb-throwing nonsense caught up with him. He could be funny and entertaining though, I'll give him that. Bob Knight Christmas is still funny as hell.

I was going to listen to his podcast and see what exactly he said, but everything after the November 30th episode has been removed from Google podcasts. He had been very critical about Irsay and the Colts recently, but he's also been spewing political crap recently and I tune out when he gets into that. The last episode I heard was day before yesterday. It's been removed.

Except for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs ...... ever since that worthless ham-and-egger Andrew Luck retired, we have had their number.

We beat them in 2019 with Jacoby Brissett and quarterback, and we beat them in 2022 with the worst offensive line in the NFL.

I will give him credit for being smart and not wanting to get exposed and lose value by going to a team with no franchise QB.

That's a really good point, and the Chargers make total sense. Denver might as well since up to this year Russell Wilson was a franchise QB as well.

He went down that road. It’s too hard to win without one. Probably doesn’t want to set himself up to fail.

It's impossible to win without one in the modern NFL. That's why the Broncos, Bears, Rams, Saints, and Cardinals need to go on a winning streak.

I wouldn’t mind Harbaugh, although he wears out his welcome after a while.

I can’t help but think Irsays meddling this season will cost us a shot at some of the better candidates.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Saturday brought back, which I wouldn’t necessarily have a problem with so long as we get a good offensive coordinator and draft a damn quarterback.

I'm not sold on Saturday either. If he's interviewed, I think a lot will hinge on his OC/DC preferences and whether or not he wants Bradley back.

I will say that his simplifying the offense mantra is holding the offense back a little.

Killing me Smalls, ..

His first year as OC

Luck 23 TD 9 INT sacked 32 times 11 different receivers had TDs

Went to AFC divisional game got beat by the cheats.

Next season #1 passing offense in NFL

Luck 40TD 16INT sacked 27 times

Fleener and Allen 8 TDs a piece

Won AFC South both seasons

Lost to ball flatteners in AFC championship

In comparison to after pep 7 games sacked 15 times

2016 he was sacked 41 times

As another comparison the best QB in the league was 37TD 13INT sacked 28 times (Mahomes) last season

All QBs take hits especially the ones that buy time to make the big plays. When you take that away they’re not the same player

I'm not sold on Saturday either. If he's interviewed...

I've never been able to wrap my head around the idea that Jeff Saturday is the realistic option going forward. The only thing that keeps me from writing him off is the level of undermining authority that Irsay has engaged in this season. Guys may not be interested in coming in or Irsay may not be interested in not being appeased.

In a vacuum, though... this thing is still too weird. No interview, no staff, no system(s)... how could that be the guy you like and not just a fill-in because you were desperate to get rid of your HC?

It's hard to even speculate about the draft or anything because we have no idea who will be here. I think I would be equally unsurprised whether we A.) have very little turnover or B.) completely gut it all, even sell all our players for a shitload of capital, and go Texans-mode for Williams in '24 and start over.

No idea.

He was brought in because Reich was NOT going to remain to end the season. here is how I see it happening:

JI: Chris, we need to get rid of Frank now. I don't want to promote a current coach, though.
CB: You know, the rules state that we cannot interview anyone from other teams until the end of the season, right?
JI: So, make it happen. He is gone, and this week.
CB: There are no options for us to do it now.
JI: Just a sec...(Hey, Jeff, i need a favor, and I need it today. You will? Thanks, man!) Chris, I have a guy to finish the season. Let's do it today.

Agree. Saturday is doing Irsay a favor while also scratching his coaching itch to see how he would like it under a pretty much pressure less situation.

Also, IMO Irsay brought him in as an outside auditor to figure out WTF happened to the OL and get an outside opinion on who needs to go and what to do to fix it.

What head coach is going to take the Colt's job ?? No QB, an Oline that needs an 80% overhaul, no stud WR and an owner who will fire you mid season. Right now, under present circumstances, Indy is a place a coaches will or should avoid.

You are absolutely right...that's why Chris Ballard is going nowhere, it will be his job to convince a good (hopefully great) coach to come on board! My guess is Reich, Ballard, and Irsay had a meeting that got very heated, the result was Jeff Saturday. I won't be surprised if the Colts clobber the Chargers Monday night!

Right now according to Tankathon, the Colts have got the 6th pick in the upcoming draft, a win on Monday night will probably drop them to the mid teens ! I hope you are wrong.

Horseshit. There are only 32 positions in the world, someone will want the job. The Pats were a train wreck before the big cheater. Green Bay was nothing for years until Lombardi.

It'll probably end up being Leslie Frazier because the Colts seem to like to bring back their own (Frazier was the DB coach on the XLI team and the 2007 #1 scoring defense team). Here's a short list of who I'd want:
