The national sports media loves it when one of their pet teams gets to slaughter and humiliate a small market team like the Colts....they are really going to enjoy this one! I fully expect Chris Collinsworth to squirt all over himself at least once!

The Detroit Lions, who went right down to the wire against the Buffalo Bills last week, just won for the 4th time in their last 5 games by hammering Trevor Lawrence's Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 40-14.
After starting the season at 1-6, the Lions are now 5-7.

Past couple of Eagles games (40 vs GB, 35 vs TEN) have gone to further illustrate how well our D has done... And notably without a dominant pass-rush. #1 and #3 scoring teams held to 17pts by our D.
And it also further illustrates how our pathetic offense is completely wasting a good D.

With his team trailing by 7 points and only 3:43 left to play in the 4th quarter l Taylor Heinicke l led the Commanders on a 90-yard TD-drive to tie the game at 20.
The game ended in a tie.
The Commanders are now 5-1-1 in games with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback ...... their lone loss on that 7-game span was a last-second loss to the Minnesota Vikings (10-2) on a field goal, 20-17.

On the first play from scrimmage when the Cowboys' running back was tackled for no gain, I thought to myself, l "Gee, these Colts fans are pretty quiet after a good defensive play."

I like when a team hikes the ball back 8 yards instead of the traditional 7 yards on very long field goal-attempts ...... on very long field-goal attempts, the trajectory of the kicked ball is lower than it is on shorter field-goal attempts. That extra yard gives the offensive line a little more leeway in their effort to prevent the defense from blocking the kick.

The replays show that the Colts may have missed an opportunity to challenge that -non-fumble call ...... that's probably going to wind up costing us at least 3 points, and as many as 14. It could wind up being 7-3 Cowboys if they score a touchdown here, instead of 10-0 Colts (if the Colts took that short field and scored a touchdown after the fumble recovery.)

If the Colts defender had really rammed Cee Dee Lamb to the ground on that play to make sure that he was down, the referees may have called unnecessary roughness.
The offense has all of the rules going their way these days ...... they can put their heads down and run as hard as they want to, try to break tackles, fake going out of bounds and then tightrope the sidelines for extra yardage, and keep running after the whistle is blown with no repercussions ...... the defense, on the other hand, has all sorts of restraints on them that they can (and will) get penalized for.

This offense is just, well, offensive to watch. I know they can't change the playbook that quick and have to run what is there, but damn, its been right at a month since Saturday became the coach. That is plenty of time to work on a few wrinkles, or change the look of some proven plays that have worked. Do something remotely positive.

Inside whams with TEs that can't block and 9 yard hooks with no timing are going to make me throw up.

They have to take a quarterback. Without a quarterback, they have absolutely nothing.
Keep taking quarterback’s until they find a good one. The good news is, if the guy they pick sucks, they’re in position to take another shot the very next year.
Seriously, in todays NFL, a franchise quarterback is really all that matters. You cannot compete without one.

As I said earlier in the thread, since they’re gonna lose anyway, I’d rather see them get totally embarrassed on national tv.
And that’s what happened.
I didn’t even watch the second half. Apathy has set in for me. Just amazing to me that they thought Pryor and Pinter were acceptable as starters.
Hell, Pinter got ran over on a field goal in the first half and very nearly got it blocked. Anyone else see that? They showed the replay and Pinter was flat on his back and the guy who ran him over was tipping the ball. It was sheer dumb luck that it went through.

I think the Colts will draft one of 3 QBs depending on availability and our final draft position.
1) Will Levis KY
2) Michael Penix Jr. WA
3) Anthony Richardson Florida
Penix is probably the most talented but when he was at Indiana was injury prone, behind our line he'd never survive a season. Richardson is a redshirt sophomore and needs to develop more, probably not ready to start in the NFL, Levis is the best fit for us in my opinion 6'3" 232 strong, not saying he is Josh Allen but there are definitely some similarities.
I'd say it is almost for certain we draft one of these 3 with our first, unless we trade it again!

I think scouts are higher on Levis than fans and media right now. I think Levis is the target. But we might have to be above Carolina to get him. Also Carolina might like Richardson given the success of Newton. Fans are still talking about Young and Stroud, but I think Levis might go before them. I think Levis might be the top QB taken.
There is a second tier also like Bo Nix and Tanner McCee
The other option is: go left tackle if a QB isn’t there. Develop Ehrlinger and play him. Try for a QB next year which will be the best class in years.
