Looks like Weatherford was claimed by the Bears. I thought he had a good preseason.

I think Weatherford was the only Colts player claimed through waivers.

Besides the names already mentioned, Zak Keefer indicated that WR Keke Coutee was on the practice squad.

Colts' practice squad isn't finished, but a few names on it so far:

Keke Coutee . . .

Glad to see both Kline and Brooks on the PS.

The Colts continued to add to their practice squad by signing a LB and a OL and adding Tony Brown to the squad.

According to the Colts.com website, the practice squad is currently:

DT Chris Williams
DT Curtis Brooks
DE Kameron Cline
LB Forrest Rhyne
LB Segun Olubi
CB Chris Wilcox
CB Will Redmond
CB Tony Brown
S Marcel Dabo
OT Jordan Murray
OL Arlington Hambright
RB D'Vonte Price
WR Keke Coutee
WR Ethan Fernea
TE Nikola Kalinic
TE Jared Scott

The only name missing from the earlier reports is RB Ty'Son Williams - not sure if they hit a snag or if it is just a formatting issue with the website and it is not displaying all players. Normally the Colts would have 16 players on the practice squad - however, this year the number will be 17 with the International Pathway Program player.

I saw on Over The Cap that we don’t even have to pay him. I bet his salary comes from NFLPA.

Just went there. Titans are not in good shape for the future, nor are the Jaguars.
Titans:
available cap space($2,370,061) effective cap ($13,620,061) cap spending $218,662,442 Dead money $8,707,619
Jagoffs:cap space($7,719,984) effective cap($16,719,984) cap spending $231,308,487 Dead money $1,411,497

However, it looks much better for us.
Colts: cap space $33,540,596 effective cap space $25,290,596 spending $191,259,437 Dead money $199,967

Its all funny money. The trick is resigning the guys on the team you trust to keep working hard. BTW, the Colts will be looking for a QB in 2 years but all that money might help

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. They still have to be under the cap, which means things will change for them. If I am reading the site right, those cap dollars only add up to 36 players for them, so they will have to fit an additional 17 players into a negative cap, while ours is 40 players, and a positive cap.

A lot a variables, if Ballard is still here, I believe the team will have a good cap situation

How many large salary numbers are there in that figure? Any salary can be guaranteed and thereby amortized over the life of the contract. That said I hope the Titans let Jeffrey Simmons get away and the Colts pair him with Buckner. Absolute pipe dream, but I said at the time that the Colts should've traded up for Simmons and he was my top choice for the Colts in that draft.

There's not, but if I could field a DL of Nick Bosa, Aaron Donald, DeForest Buckner, and TJ Watt, I would, no matter who I had already.

I guess you can do that in a fantasy league

Guessing our cap space will get eaten up pretty quick by Nelson's and Ngakoue's extensions. Also, JT and MPJ will only have 1 year left on their rookie deals, and I'm sure we'll be looking to extend them as well. We might have to restructure some contracts to push dollars in '24 and '25 to get that done.

I didn't take the time to drill down, but the capability is there.

Their top 10 cap hit players have a combined salary of ~$130M w/ only ~$27M of that guaranteed. Also, they ~$120M in estimated cap space for '24. Unfortunately Simmons and most of their top players aren't going anywhere.

The Colts added RB Phillip Lindsay to the practice squad today.

I like the move - stash him there for the time being and then bring him up if there is an injury to RB1 or RB2.

I think he would have probably gotten RB3 over Jackson, if he played special teams

The problem with having a guy like Lindsay on the practice squad is that the minute someone loses a back to injury, they’re signing him.

It is the price of keeping a QB3.
