Final cuts are due tomorrow, but there will probably be several moves made today. There also might be a trade over the next two days to find some more depth for certain position groups.

The Colts are waiving former Notre Dame QB Jack Coan, a source confirms.

This puts me back in the camp of being a fan of Ballard- though just having that dude in camp is a black mark upon the franchise.

They released Lindsey. Seems a strange move. Must feel depth is fine and need ST contributors. Especially if they keep Ehlinger.

The Chefs just released Taylor Stallworth. Could be a waiver option for DL depth.

https://twitter.com/TesslerSports/status/1564585801496788998

The Kansas City Chiefs just released my veteran DT Taylor Stallworth. Tough numbers situation there but they want him for their practice squad. We'll see what happens next.

The Colts also waived D’Vonte Price and Ty'Son Williams.

I guess that leaves Deon Jackson as RB3.

Colts have released rookie RB D’Vonte Price.

The Colts are waiving rookie OT Ryan Van Demark, per source.

A former UConn standout, Van Demark had 20 offers as an undrafted free agent. One to watch on waivers.

Team wants him back on practice squad if he clears waivers.

Colts have waived TE Nikola Kalinic, per source.

Likely will be on the practice squad.

According to Stephen Holder, it appears that Sam will be on the 53 man roster. But, we shall see.

If Lindsey was playing a lot we would be in trouble. I like keeping younger legs at the RB position. A starter on ST is way more important than your 3rd or 4th running back in any event. It is always interesting to see how the Colts make these decisions. Youth (and I assume upside) is a obviously a huge positive. Happy Ehlinger made it (lots of sources are saying he is on the 53)

Horrible decision to cut Lindsey. He was actually competent.

One thing that makes little sense to me is why sign a guy at all if you know you're not going to keep him due to the fact he doesn't play ST (and as a team philosophy it appears that the Colts don't want a #3 RB who doesn't play special teams).

Re: Lindsay

Most of the game day snaps of a typical RB3 are on special teams so I am not completely shocked.

That is why I mentioned that Lindsay might be a better fit for a RB4 or RB5 role at the time of the signing - Stash him on Practice Squad (if he will accept PS) and then promote to the active roster if either Taylor or Hines is injured.

A couple of thoughts on the current roster:

- Only 3 RBs? Surprised we didn't keep Lindsey even though he doesn't bring much in STs (did we even look at him there?) in case (god forbid) something happens to JT.

- I suppose Dennis Kelly getting released means he wasn't getting healthy anytime soon. Also, surprised French made the cut.

- Whys is Banogu still here?

- Who is Byron Cowart?

Regarding Banogu, the general consensus seems to be that they wanna give him a shot in the new scheme. As if it will do any good.

The dude is the new Josh Thomas.

The Colts picked up a depth lineman from Buffalo. Looks like the Colts cut CB Tony Brown to make room on the roster.

https://twitter.com/NateAtkins_/status/1565016898223357954

The Colts claimed OT Luke Tenuta from the Bills. He was a sixth-round pick this year out of Virginia Tech.

He’s played right tackle and left tackle and brings the measurables the Colts like — such as 6-8 height.

Sign Taylor Stallworth and cut Banagu.

Apparently Stallworth is sticking with the Chefs (at least for now).

He was a vested veteran so he did not go through the waivers process and instead automatically became a free agent after he was cut. I would have thought he may have received an offer or two from other teams. But he chose to stay with KC for now as a member of their practice squad.

Of course, teams can still poach him off KC's practice squad as his agent hints at below.

https://twitter.com/TesslerSports/status/1565050184014483457

The Kansas City Chiefs are signing my client DT Taylor Stallworth to the practice squad. Was on the Colts roster the last couple of seasons and will likely be on somebody's active roster soon.

The Colts will open up a roster spot soon as they will place Trevor Denbow on IR. They will use the roster spot on OT Dennis Kelly.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1565069080985538560

S Trevor Denbow (foot) is going to go to injured reserve.

Colts don't think it will be the whole year, but he's going to be on IR

The Colts essentially swapped OT's with Buffalo. Ryan Van Demark has decided to join the Bills practice squad. I guess with this move, he will be closer to home.

https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1565075884033409029

OT Ryan Van Demark is signing with the Bills’ practice squad, per agents Ness Mugrabi and David Canter.

The Colts offered him a role on their practice squad to stay in Indy but he opted to head to Buffalo.

Not a good comparison IMO since Thomas actually saw the field on game day. Also, Thomas was an UDFA instead of a wasted high round pick.

That's kind of a weird shuffle. You would think we would have kept Kelly in the first place. Guessing Ballard thought he would able to land someone more ready to play than Tenuta on the waiver wire?

If the Colts wanted to bring back Denbow off of IR this season, then Denbow needed to be on the initial 53 man roster.

So they needed a roster spot for 24 hours.

If you pick a vested veteran as the cut for that roster spot, that player won't be subject to waivers. The Colts may have even told Dennis Kelly that if he waited a day or two and not pursued other free agent openings that the Colts would sign him back to the active roster.

That all makes sense. I was more referring to us re-signing Kelly and not Brown since we kept Brown over Kelly on the original 53. Although maybe Brown cleared waivers and we were able to sign him to the PS before re-signing Kelly.

It appears the only other player the Colts put a waiver claim in on (and lost) was TE Trevon Wesco.

FWIW - if Chicago would have passed on Weatherford, he would have been headed to New Orleans instead.

https://twitter.com/FieldYates/status/1565315771735105537

8 players had multiple teams put in claims on them yesterday:

-Trevon Wesco: CLE, CHI, IND, CIN
-Sterling Weatherford: CHI, NO
-Kellen Mond: PHI, CLE
-Nick McCloud: NYG, CHI
-Kingsley Jonathan: NYG, CHI
-Darryl Johnson: NYG, SEA
-Jamycal Hasty: NYG, JAX
-Jack Anderson: ATL, NYG
