What are your thoughts about the final roster for the Colts?

This year's count will be 54 since the Colts have a player from the International Pathway Program. Marcel Dabo will make the roster as the 54th player.

The number that I included by the position group heading was the number that was kept two years ago. Last year was a bit of a mess with all the foot injuries and COVID positive cases so the Colts kept a lot of extra players that probably wouldn't have made the final cut. Obviously, those numbers aren't set in stone but you can use it as a starting template if you want.

Remember, Dabo's a freebie spot, so this is a 54 man roster. The numbers listed in the original post reflect a 53 man roster.

I doubt all of our 53 are currently rostered. I can see a few waiver claims, two clear spots that the team could use a waiver claim are DT (badly) and potentially OT (depending on Dennis Kelly’s status). I left Kelly off my list not knowing his condition, could be a PUP stash. Possibly a corner or safety as well.

Why are you guys picking Van Demark? That dude was fucking terrible.

Figured he would hold a spot for Dennis Kelly until he returns.

They paid him a $100k+ signing bonus for a reason. Maybe they'll stash him on the PS, but I don't think they're just going to let him go unless another team signs him to their active roster.

One thing I will say about Ballard. He's damn good at drafting or signing LB talent.

I have seen some really good things from Weatherford and Domann from this years class. Skalaski hasn't been bad either.

Then you look at Leonard, Okereke, Franklin, Speed. The dude just doesn't miss on LB's.

It would be awesome if he can somehow channel that skill to Edge rushers, because he's not done anything in that department to date.

Lots of interesting decisions, I agree with everyone who thinks that Ballard will be active on the waver wire. History says he will with the likes of Moore, Gowinski and Mohammad all being waver wire acquisitions.

Like almost everyone I think we keep 3 QBs

I think Coutee makes the roster. If Hines is going to be such an integral part of the offense I would prefer he doesn't return punts. Coutee showed he is capable of doing that. Then do they keep Patmon or Strachan? No idea but think Patmon has a better chance of clearing wavers. Strachan hasn't shown much but neither has Patmon and he has been here for what, 3 years?

Do they keep Banogu? I know next to nothing about special teams but I keep hearing and reading he is becoming a staple there. Any of you freaks know about this? He certainly doesn't look like much on the defensive line.

There have been a few offensive linemen that have been mentioned as potential trade candidates the last few days (nothing Colts specific - just that their teams were possibly ready to move on):

OL Teven Jenkins (Bears)
OL Alex Leatherwood (Raiders)
OT Chuma Edoga (Jets)

Ballard likes dealing with the Jests.

What are they going to do about Leonard? PUP list he misses 4 games. Keep him, someone else gets cut.

I suspect he should be on PUP. He hasn't practiced at all AFAIK
