Cooper Manning, brother of our beloved Peyton, was the only one of daddy Archie's son's who didn't play pro football because of spinal stenosis.

His son Arch (nephew of Peyton and Eli) just committed to play college football for the University of Texas Longhorns in 2023. It will be interesting to see how things pan out for him in Division 1-A college football, and/or if he winds up being good enough to make it to the NFL as did both of his uncles (Peyton and Eli.)

Gonna be hard to draft him picking at 32.

I'm confused about his height after looking at this pic. Peyton is 6'5" official, cooper is 6'4", which matches their relative heights in this pic. Arch looks 6'2" at most, but he's listed at 6'4"

I thought the same. Gotta think that's an older pic.

He still has another year of high school to finish ....... 2026 if he leaves college a year early, and 2028 if he redshirts one of his first 4 college seasons and becomes a 5th-year senior.

It's gonna be hard to draft him picking at #32.

o

It depends on how badly (if at all) Jim wants him ...... the Cowboys went 11-3 in 1976, but still wound up drafting Tony Dorsett with the 2nd overall pick in 1977.

I guess my biggest problem with Arch as a Colt, is that if we don't have our long term answer at QB before he is drafted, should Ballard even be here?

If it turns out that Matt Ryan is a "young" 37, and he winds up having at least 4 good years left in him (and especially if the Colts wind up making it to the Super Bowl at least one time in those next 4 years), then it would be quite plausible for Ballard to still be here and (simultaneously) be interested in Arch Manning.

Arch would have to be the 1st Manning to declare for the draft as a junior correct?

That’s a long time away.

No. No one saw Luck pulling the plug right before the start of the season. Has he tanked a season? No. He went and got seasoned vets who had shown the ability to win.

I dont follow college football like others, was there a QB this last draft that they should have given up a bunch picks to go and draft? We were one above average QB away from the playoffs. If Ryan tanks, ok, Ballard will be the hot seat. Look at the rest of the team. The Colts fire him he will be hired somewhere before his house sells in Indy.

He still has another year of high school to go. If he declared a year early while he's in college, it would be for the 2026 season.

And yes, all 3 Mannings that have played in the NFL did not declare draft eligibility as juniors (Archie couldn't, because it was against NFL rules at that time. That changed in 1990, 7 years after a pro league first allowed it with Herschel Walker and the advent of the USFL in 1983.)

Frank Gore, Jr. )had himself a historic day in yesterday's Lending Tree Bowl win over Rice.

http://www.coltfreaks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156059

Not only did Junior gain 329 yards on 21 attempts for a 15.7 yard average and 2 rushing TD's ...... he also completed 2 out of 3 passes with 1 passing TD.

In fact, for his career Gore is 17-for-30 for 368 yards passing with 7 TD's and 1 INT.

Maybe I need to watch it again but his movement reminded me a lot of Luck.

Kind of ironic, IMO.
