Who are you looking at? Who do you hope for?

And please use a simulator (even though they are not very accurate right now)but they do eliminate players available, and show you who is available etc

And don't come up with stupid shit picks

Also if you draft for need over BPA/need. you're a retard

I get that we need playmakers on offense

BUT. We will never compete in the playoffs without a shut down secondary.

The gauntlet in the the playoffs is brutal in the AFC

Better be able to slow these other teams down to win.

I want defense in the draft. Then again. I always do. CB's Dline and Safeties

But will always look at all positions if a good player is available

Christian Watson.

2nd round: Kyler Gordon CB
3rd. round: John Metchie III, WR

After that I have no idea. Not sure any of these will even be there for us, but it's who I like and can be there, maybe.

I am not feeling great about our secondary right now and hope we address it in the draft and free agency, though unless somehow Campbell stays healthy we seem thin at WR also.

Even if Campbell stays healthy, which he won't, we're still very thin at WR. Hope Ballard brings in at least 1 via FA.

Just did the PFF draft simulator which was only 3 rounds and picked Nick Bonitto (Edge Oklahoma) at 42 and Carson Strong at 73. Neither is an immediate need (although it's always good to add pass rush), but like you said BPA.

And here's my 7 rounder at profootballnetwork.com:

42. Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati

73. Carson Strong QB Nevada

122. Darian Kinnard OT Kentucky

159.Charlie Kolar TE Iowa State

179. Amare Barno EDGE Virginia Tech

216. Jaylen Watson CB Washington State

239. Allie Green IV CB Missouri

Man I don't even give a F to run a simulator or name a name- just get Ryan some people to throw the ball to, period. I don't give a damn if he uses every pick we have for a combination of WR and TE's- quit ignoring their importance!

My simulation:

I did not like any trades offered.

Rd 2 - #42 - CB Roger McCreary, Auburn
Rd 3 - #73 - TE Jalen Wydermyer, Texas A&M
Rd 4 - #122 - WR Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky
Rd 5 - #159 - S Smoke Monday, Auburn
Rd 5 - #179 - OT Obinna Eze, TCU
Rd 6 - #216 - WR Jerreth Sterns, Western Kentucky
Rd 7 - #239 - WR Bo Melton, Rutgers

I really like McCreary and I like pairing him with a lower round safety from the same school.

Wydermyer is one of the most complete TEs in the draft and I see a "Jack Doyle" like effect by him.

Throw the dart at the board on WR and hope that one or more of them stick!

If you can't have a ton of 1st and 2nd round picks, compensate with a HOLE HOST of 3rd day picks!

A 14 member draft class?!? That would blow my rookie pool pay calculations right out the window! :)

I believe that if we could find a dynamic TE at pick 42, the need for a receiver is hugely negated. Campbell, has looked really good when he gets on the field, I also like what I have seen from Dulin. The rest of the guys are just potential, and we do need to look at someone in the 4th or 5th rounds in case Campbell yet again is unable to stay on the field consistently.

If a QB has the time, any WR can get open. If the Colts could get a LT that could STARt right away, that would be great. I can't see that being available when they get their first selection, so who knows what they'll do.

We are taking a CB, S, WR, and TE in this draft and some backup ol as well. It’s a great draft and you can find good players on day three. I think we have gone to the pro day of every WR in the top 150 and also looked at a bunch of TEs. Rankings seem to be all over the place. I see guys on here going in the 7th but I don’t think will last past the 5th. So actual player order seems to be subjective.

Rd 2 - #42 WR - Skyy Moore, western Michigan (reminds me of TY)
Rd 3 - #73 S - Kirby Joseph, Illinois (6’1, wingspan of 6’8)
Rd 4 - #122 CB - Cordale Flott, LSU
Rd 5 - #159 TE - Grant Calcaterra, SMU
Rd 5 - #179 WR - Bo Melton, Rutgers
Rd 6 - #216 T - Luke Tenuta, UW
Rd 7 - #239 T - Patrick Paul, WKU

Pretty sure i have had a very similar draft on the simulator. Calcaterra is one I have my eye one.

Moore would be a good 42 pick IMO. Joesph too

Funny how limited your choices are if you run these and can't just pick people out of the clouds to be drafted.

I actually think this is about how the draft lys out.

Although. Was Rainmann available when you picked Moore? Maybe he would be the pick. IDK

I think there are about three draft sims, I go between them. Each one has different players available at each point. Its kind of funny.

My first choice is George Pickens. I think he is a first round talent that could go in the second. If he is there I hope they grab him.

Apparently, in this draft, everyone has a different opinion on who the best players are. Means the mocks are probably not going to be accurate at all. Who knows who will fall to the Colts at 42. Going to be interesting to see. Bet there will be lots of players people will call reaches, and other that the media are shocked have dropped. Someone will probably reach for a QB in the 1st, but I bet some of these guys will fall into the 4th 5th round.

I think it would be fun to do a live draft game. And put yourself in the war room and watch as players are taken and who is a available.

Colts are selecting 42. Have to get your picks in as soon as #40 is on the clock but before 41 get their pick in.

You can do 3 choices in the order that you would prefer. Basically the same as teams do it now.

The problem with just posting a draft, You never know when or if someone may fall to you.

Doubt many would want to be online through the entire draft but ya never know. You guys are Freaks.

Thoughts anyone?

Don't know as much about this class as I'd like to, but I know Isaiah Likely is a guy I want the Colts to get and who I think would fit Reich's offense very well. 3 of those guys will be in college in 2022. They seem to have several of those in their database this year.

Not my problem. They have very inaccurate ratings as well. For instance there are analysts the have Greg Dulcich as either the 1, 2 or 3 TE in the draft. But in the game he doesn't even show up as a top 25 until around the 7th round.

Yeah, I think my score suffered as a result of limiting myself to draft eligible players

Nice draft. By my count you got 8 day 2 players, which is damn good. Not addressing QB in your top 4 and not having a day 1 pick kept you from having a much higher score.

To get the score, I went with their highest rated player for each pick. The first one I posted, I went with what I thought was BPA based on my much more limited knowledge this year and at some point leaning on NFL.com scouting reports and ratings.

Some. I see the same names come up as available at picks. I haven’t dug into it as much as I used to. Just know because of Covid this is kinda two drafts in one and why it’s so deep. If you can get a hold of Brugler’s draft guide. It’s pretty good.

It can be a little rare to get the trade from GB. But, I don't always take the best trade. Sometimes ill take the trade that gives me the earliest pick, so that I can keep stacking as many early round trades as possible.

He's probably DQ'd on the Colts' board anyway, but stay out. Same with the Kadarius Toney speculation lately. When word is that a guy won't study the playbook and takes any opportunity to miss work... I can't understand fans' interest.

Yeah, no way they draft a guy with those issues. Fans just look at measurables and college tape. They have no idea about the interviews and when they ask the coaches about them. But personality is a huge aspect of the player’s evaluation.

The WRs I think they like in the second are Alec Pierce, Skyy Moore, Jalen Tolbert, Javan Dotson. I expect two to be there when they pick. My bet is Pierce. He has been rising up boards and teams like him. Team leader and mature. Tested well.

I will not be surprised by any pick. This team has needs everywhere not just this season but in the future. Just take the BPA and move on. I actually think they will look hard at Oline, Dline and secondary. I think the WR group is deep enough to wait until later rounds without much of a drop in grade.

There could be some pretty good secondary guys available at 42. Oline and Dline also.

If those aren't there I think he trades back.

I think this is pretty spot on. Ballard seems to like the WR group already and I think he has plans for TY. Thus I don’t necessarily think WR at 42 unless they just love someone. I feel like 42 will be OL but who knows with ballard!? Cant wait to see who we end up with at the end of the week.

This could be one of the most revealing things Ballard has ever said in this series.

Anyone wanna speculate who he's talking about at 42?

It's interesting. We just saw Ballard do this with Dayo last year. But Ojabo will be more sought after than Dayo and the way doctors and PT's expedite these kids back to the field; he could realistically get some experience this season. More teams will be willing to draft him even for a (mostly) red-shirt season.

A lot of Colts fans' heads would fucking explode, though. So that would be an added fun bonus.

I would love it. If Ballard did that it means he loves the dude. You can never, ever have enough pass rushers. Would be a huge statement about how Indy builds a team. Not gonna get my hopes up.

:D

If he falls to 42…

That’s quite a bargain

Who is he taking playing time from, Paye, Ngakoue?

When will he be ready?

Nice piece to have, but then we can't fill the obvious holes.

For as much as I'd hate to see us not fill a need with #42 I do think in the long run it'd be a great pick.

Ballard said “You gotta have 8” when talking about the D line

Holes are now and in the future. FA is for now The draft is about building a team not building a team for this yr ONLY.

I totally agree, but there's nothing that says they have to come early in the draft.

Besides, I am more concerned with the backup to "big Grove". If he goes down we have no answer at NT.

Don’t know, we use a rotation.

Don’t know, 9-12 months likely.

I shouldn’t have to point out that a good pass rusher is very valuable.

Not to mention we play the AFC west this year

Thanks. Good watch! Seemed like (as least from the video) that we almost took Woods in the 2nd, so great that he was still around in the 3rd for us. I think he could turn into the steal of the draft.
