Report: Cato June joining Colts as assistant linebackers coach

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/02/22/report-cato-june-joining-colts-as-assistant-linebackers-coach/

The Colts drafted Cato June in 2003. He spent his first four seasons in Indianapolis, made his only Pro Bowl in 2015 with the Colts and won a Super Bowl ring with them.

Now, June is starting his NFL coaching career with the Colts.

Pete Thamel of ESPN reports June has accepted a job as the team’s assistant linebackers coach.

June spent last season coaching the outside linebackers at Bowling Green. He also has coached at Howard and UMass.

DC Gus Bradley was the Tampa Bay LB's coach when Cato played for the Bucs so there are more ties here than just a Colts + Cato reunion.

Thread title threw me for a loop. I was afraid we signed him to play, instead of hired to coach.

Cool. Cato was one hell of a coverage LB (remember how many picks he had in '05?). He should be able to show our guys some things I'm sure.

He was probably cheap. Good luck to him.

He probably will get an entry level salary. It doesnt count against cap so why would you care. Irsay is not his dad.
