Not sure when was the last time I started a game thread, but away we go...

Sobering thought, as coverage begins, I can't believe we're starting a new season with Pagano at the helm...

Coltsalr

Edwin Jackson sucks.

Nice missed tackle by the Colts already, I think that was Anthony Walker who whiffed on that one.

Well, we knew Davis and Simon could play.

I though it was EJ too, but it was number 50 that whiffed, Jackson actually made the tackle on that play.

Gotcha, dumbass announcer said Edwin Jackson.

In the preseason, they are probably told to return all of them.

It's the preseason. If it continues into the regular season, then it's an issue.

I'm not concerned about WHO as a player is getting beat--it's HOW they get beat. It looks the same as it has for the past few years. Listen to Mike Chappell or Venturi when they assess what they've seen--they can tell this team isn't headed for a double digit win season. They have very little optimism in their assessments, even Chappie's pre-game interview a few minutes before this game started. I trust those who have eyes on the team often and aren't trying to pander to the masses with unfounded optimism.

We've put some fairly decent investment in WR's and aren't most of them supposedly speed merchants?

Akeem Ayers is good. No idea why he stays in Pagano's doghouse.

I know a lot of first teamers aren't playing but the offense looks equally inept with the current lineup as it did last year with the starters in the first halves of games. A lot of the same bullshit play calls.
Pagano and both coordinators can't be gone quick enough.

You may well be right that this team is headed for a poor season, but you still can't base it on the preseason

Who won a battle today? Not even talking about "OMG no big plays!!!". Who won a battle on any given play? Any linemen that were bright spots? A few players in the defensive backfield made a few decent plays, but it almost seems like positive, well played instances are due to a player's athleticism and a bit of luck rather than "wow, that was a good scheme, the coach put him in the right place to make a play."
I thought Sheard and Simon looked pretty good early on. Sheard did a great job running down plays from the backside and Simon's INT was a pretty good play.

I thought T.J. Green looked pretty good in his play time. Appeared to hit well, be in position on pass plays and made a nice delayed blitz to force the QB into the T.Y. McGill sack.

Wilson got some pain thrown his way but showed later in the game that he can learn from the experience.

Other than that? Yeah, I got nothing.

Walk Worthy,

Fuck the score- fuck the penalties

Exactly what the young DBs needed someone to attack them all game

Same stuff, different year from a Pagano team

Penalties and missed tackles.

How many tackles did the secondary miss today? I lost count.

There is no reason Tolzien should be the starter over Walker based on today.

Quincy Wilson, those are basic one on one NFL plays. I don't care if he was "in position", you can't let a no name NFL WR make those plays twice in a row.

At least we found out who is leading and will likely win the punting battle.

Agree, it was number 50 (Anthony Walker) who whiffed, not Jackson. Jackson actually made the tackle on that play as I stated earlier in the thread. That one announcer continued to get a lot of names wrong, annoying old bastard.

Don Fischer is horrible. It's embarrassing. It's as if this is the only time of year he ever watches the NFL.
