anyone else surprised he is getting so much time with the first unit? he isn't a ballard guy.

i like the guys hitting ability but i personally would be surprised if he was ever anything more than a solid st's guy and decent backup

Sort of, but it is not like we have an abundance of quality MLBs. I suspect your evaluation of him is probably his ceiling.

I'll eat my words, where I said in another thread that Morrison might not make the team.

So yeah, I'm surprised he's the starter at this moment. I thought the starters would be either, Bostic and Spence or Bostic and Walker.

I will say that eventually, I expect Walker to be one of the starting ILB's.

I don't think Ballard has the ego to only play his guys, or to favor his guys over someone who is better, just because that better play is from the former regime.

Not that Morrison is def better than the new guys, but so far the reports out of camp are that he def looks good and they are high on him. But I'm as surprised as anyone because I thought he looked pretty slow last year.

Saw this article earlier, dunno if the writer is full of shit or not, but there it is:

Yes I am surprised. Speed isn't everything but at LB you have to have some and he just didn't seem quick or fast enough last year. If that has changed then I wonder what the problem was. It is hard to imagine he's really one of the two best ILBs on the roster.

Very surprised, but Holder had an article on how hes seeing things much better coming into this year, Monachino said in year 1 his "vision was thru a straw and now its thru a bay window"

Didn't Hightower run a shitty 40 coming out?

LB core pretty much has sucked for years so I am all for giving anyone a chance that looks like they can do the job better. really can't get much worse.

Blech, if the other guys can't beat out Morrison, that's more of an indictment on them, than it is any miraculous improvement from Morrison, I'd bet.

That, or it could be our coaching staff is that horribly inept, which while it wouldn't surprise me, I wouldn't think is the case in this instance. Ballard really didn't invest that much into MLB (it was a glaring need, but we had a lot of glaring needs and it's only been one offseason). Picking between guys of meh talent levels isn't generally a firable offense.

Maybe they're planning on running more 3-3-5?

Maybe they're planning on running more 3-3-5?

Maybe they're planning on giving up another 375 yards rushing to Jacksonville?

Thanks. For some reason I thought he was slow. Guess not
