The NFL has altered the roster management rules this year. There is now a 3 step cutdown process instead of one big cutdown day which has been in place for the last few years.
Teams have to cut down to 85 players today and 80 on Aug. 24 before the final cuts on Aug. 31.
The Colts made the following moves today to reach the 85 player limit:
- waived TE Graham Adomitis and RB Darius Anderson
- placed DE Damontre Moore on the Injured Reserve list
- waived-injured WR Quartney Davis and CB Nick Nelson. If Davis and Nelson clear waivers, they will revert to the Colts IR list.

o
Pineiro went 3-for-3 in field goal attempts, including a 50-yarder in his most recent exhibition game against the Vikings ...... probably enough to at least stir some interest from another team for him to try to catch on with.

It lets Pinero choose his destination. The Colts could have traded him for a pick or a player. Ballard is a class guy. He didnt hold him hostage

The Colts were looking to add to their TE group. They placed a waiver claim for TE Kahale Warring.
Ultimately the Cheats had the higher priority order so New England was able to successfully claim him from the Texans.

New Patriots TE Kahale Warring was a popular target on waivers, with the Colts and Saints also attempting to claim him, per source.
New England had highest priority and acquired the 2019 third-rounder.

The Colts and Jets have previously made a trade with very similar circumstances - the Nate Hairston trade.
The Jets were high on the waiver priority order that offseason but they wanted to make sure that they acquired Hairston. The Jets agreed to send a conditional 6th round draft pick to the Colts for Hairston.
I don't know what type of playing time conditions were attached to the trade - Hairston only played in about 35% of the Jets defensive snaps the following season - but the Colts returned the 6th round pick back to the Jets.
In the end, the Colts traded Hairston to the Jets for nothing.

This is already costing us. How nice is it going to be when we lose the left side of our line because of COVID protocols during the regular season? For a team that has big aspirations and wants not to miss even a tiny thing that could hurt our chances of winning this is idiotic.

I have a tough time criticizing folks who watch every single thing they put in their body be hesitant about a vax that still does not have FDA approval.
The Pfizer vaccine the FDA approved this week IS NOT the one that has been injected into millions of folks and is available now. They approved one that has only had 21,000 doses produced for testing and that Pfizer has not intention mass producing. Follow the dollars.
This vax is not like all the others we took as kids.

I don't see this as being personally critical of any individual. From the teams position, with the COVID rules in the NFL being what they are, not being vaccinated puts your team at a competitive disadvantage. That sucks if you are a fan.

Red State Article (https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/08/did_the_fda_pull_a_baitandswitch_on_the_american_p eople.html)
What the FDA approved and licensed is Pfizer’s Comirnaty Covid vaccine not the current Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine in use under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The FDA has acknowledged that Pfizer has insufficient stocks of the newly licensed Comirnaty vaccine available but there is a significant amount of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine available under the EUA still on hand.
Further, the FDA decreed that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine should remain unlicensed and under the EUA but can be used interchangeably with the newly licensed Comirnaty vaccine. More importantly, the FDA states that the licensed Comirnaty vaccine and the existing Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine are “legally distinct” but proclaims that their differences do not “impact safety or effectiveness.” [emphases added]

Per Reich, Big Q did not test positive. If he did not test positive but is on the COVID reserve list, that means he is not vaccinated. Unvaccinated players have to sit out 5 days if they are in close contact with a COVID positive person. With the weekend encompassing some of that time, he might not miss that much practice time in this instance as long as he doesn't test positive when the 5 day period is up.

Ahh yes, we should be reading the highly accurate and unbiased American Thinker! You can tell the article is unbiased because it specifically references the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic” like any reputable reporter should. Never mind that it is clearly wrong about a major part of the article - vaccines authorized only by EUA can be required by employers. You can thank at will employment laws. The article also claims the Delta variant makes the vaccine obsolete. Data doesn’t even come close to showing that as being true. But American Thinker isn’t known for facts or accuracy.
Now, if your overall point is that legally the vaccines are different then yes that is true and not exactly hidden. And I will agree there are potential liability ramifications to that. However, they are the same formulation. Basically if your concern is about the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness, then they are the same. If your primary concern is your ability to sue the manufacturer then yeah there may be an issue.

A free press is our frontline defense against corruption. Disparaging it and dismissing it only weakens that purpose. Turning towards smaller opinionated blogs and other sources with an obvious bias that is not fact checked and reinforced by the whole leads to ridiculous conspiracy theories and people storming farm feed stores for ivermectin paste.
Simply put, these right wing sites and blogs don’t usually fact check or have the resources to report on some things accurately. They aren’t usually interested in being truthful either and are more interested in pushing their beliefs. People should obviously fact check everything and don’t just accept one source of information. But turning towards small little hate blogs for info just puts you in a deeper silo.
This whole thing started because of a president who was so corrupt he had to undermine the media covering him so his voters wouldn’t listen to what they said about him. Thanks to decades of right wing radio and TV, and social media that just reinforces your beliefs, that was an easier thing to accomplish than it should have been.

Not having player vaccinated has already affected this team and its preparation. Nelson did not test positive for COVID. The only reason he cannot do any work with the Colts is he was in close proximity to an infected teammate. You only need to isolate after a contact if you are not vaccinated. It is just a matter of luck whether this season goes down the drain for non football reasons.

Fortunately, left and right is not the same thing or we probably would be at war now. Yes, left-wing media can be bad as well, but not as bad. Right-wing media is focused on creating outrage and anger, focused on the liberal as the main antagonist. Liberals tend to spread out their news sources so you have different ideas coming in. Conservatives are centered around Fox news and generally just have one source for their news. This gives Fox a stranglehold on what is reported, and they are bad and actively omit things. Not to mention their opinion commentators like Tucker had to declare that their shows are entertainment and not news bc of all the lies they put in them. That means conservatives are generally less informed on issues.

Finally, after watching all the frustrated angry anti-maskers at these school board meetings (some of whom do not even have kids) that is why I say "ok, enough is enough."
Out of respect for everyone here, this will be my last post on this subject in this thread.
I don’t even think we really disagree. I’m just willing to assign blame wherever it lies, not just on one side of the political spectrum.
The examples I gave were from some of the oldest legacy media organizations in the country. They were blatantly wrong or biased and there are THOUSANDS more examples where those came from. The links you provided were about sites like Parler and Gab. Sure, there are nuts there, but they’re not the New York Times or WAPO. Not even close.
Objectively, it’s not a right or left issue. It’s a media issue. Don’t let partisanship blind you to the truth.

This is my last post regarding this as well. If you want to continue it in the other section that is fine.
You might be confused with another thread maybe? I don't see any examples from you. You mentioned Vox and Huffpo and thats it. I think we can agree those are not legacy media, nor examples.
I'm not saying there isn't issues on the left, there are, but it pales in comparison to what is happening on the right. Unfortunately, the problem is the right is being radicalized. You can see it online, being reflected in polls, and even see it personally. I do not see the same behavior on the left. Even at the height if Trump's controversy. I didn't see polls showing a growing number of liberals wanting to overthrow the govt or encourage the military to stage a coup. I don't constantly hear liberals talk about someone needing to do something (implying violence) or Jan 6th didn't go far enough.
right-wing-embrace-of-conspiracy-is-mass-radicalization-experts-warn (https://www.npr.org/2020/12/15/946381523/right-wing-embrace-of-conspiracy-is-mass-radicalization-experts-warn)
You mention partisanship, but I don't hate the right, I want them to return to Earth. Hell, I am conservative in a lot of ways, but the Q/stolen election/Trump hero-worship is nuts. The gab and parlour are just where they congregate now. I do agree, it is a media issue. I provided a whole documentary on Amazon discussing the effect right-wing media is having like Fox news and Right-wing radio. I really suggest watching it.
fox-news-brain-meet-the-families-torn-apart-by-toxic-cable-news (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2019/apr/12/fox-news-brain-meet-the-families-torn-apart-by-toxic-cable-news)
fox-news-watching-what-i-learned (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2019/oct/25/fox-news-watching-what-i-learned)
The truth is most Americans agree on just about everything. It is only a few issues that people seem divided over, yet those issues are made to seem like huge uncrossable rivers when they are streams at most.
I never thought I would see something like Jan 6th in my lifetime. I know its downplayed on the right, its minimized, or attributed to antifa etc. But there were some bad actors in that crowd looking to do real harm. If any of those groups had caught Pelosi or the Vice President do you think it would have ended well? I don't. That is not a joke or a LOL moment. It is a warning shot across the bow.

Glad we are keeping 7 WR. Hope Ehlinger can get together with whomever helped Drew Brees get an arm. A little surprised that both the Davis' were cut and Marvell made the team. If COVID or injuries don't decimate us it should be an interesting team to root for.

Assuming that there are still 11 DL at that time - when the 3 "Close Contact" COVID Reserve players are activated, one of the DL will be dropped.
However, the Colts may make a waiver claim or two in the interim and they may drop a DL on a corresponding move.

Agree with both comments.
Prior to his 10+ day setback with COVID, the coaching staff had been pretty optimistic with his rehab and were even thinking that he might be back in time for Week 1.
At this point, however, I would be really surprised if he is back Week 1. It would be a change from how the coaching staff has approached injuries / recoveries the last few years. Usually they try to ease the player back and give the player extra time. I can't imagine them throwing Fisher into the fire after just a handful of practices with the team.
