They don't put any identifying information about players they're talking about until after the draft.

Maybe in previous years but I still believe they’re not hiding anything this year me, you, and everyone else know it’s gonna be a Tackle. Similar to last year when I hit on Pittman, They might fall in love with a certain player and trade back but the position is obvious

Right now I’d go with Eichenberg or Jenkins, if Jenkins is there at 21 he’s the pick if not trade back for Eichenberg
I think Horn may fall and freak all you fuckers out when they draft him. He'd be BPA over Jenkins or Eichenburg or most anyone still available

Ballard has stuck to his philosophy of building from the lines out over the years. I think that will continue in this draft, and I doubt they'll go CB before Day 3.

Ballard went WR,RB,S,QB Last yr. No one saw it coming. Although I did say they would take a RB early
He drafts BPA/Need with the emphasis on BPA Jayce Horn would more than likely be BPA by a long shot.

Jaycee Horn is the one who can't tackle, right? Ballard would never draft that type of CB. IMO the only reason OT isn't a mortal lock at 21 is because a guy like Dillon Radunz, who would usually be in the late 1 early 2 conversation, is instead in the late 2 early 3 conversation because this class is just that deep. So IMO the Colts will either fall in love with an edge and take him at 21 (Ojulari and Phillips being the two guys I could see that happen with), or they'll get the best OT on the board.

I definitely saw WR and RB coming, We signed funchess to be the big body WRand he got hurt so TY had ZERO threat on the other side and Mack was entering the final year of his contract
And yes BPA because if your guys not there you trade back lol

WR was super obvious, just like LT is this year.
I suspected RB was coming, bc I didn’t see them resigning Mack. But his injury meant there was no demand for him.

Hmmmm.......the Colts may blur out their draft board in the "With the Next Pick" series - but the Jaguars apparently didn't bother to obfuscate their grades on their draft board in their video series. Several prospect scores were revealed including that of Kwity Paye:

Shoddy work, or maybe they just don’t care. Each team is a little different in draft grades. I’m not sure who is calling the shots there now, Urban handling the drafting too?
How hard is it to tell what the colts value? High character, athletic ability, unselfish, team first, play inside the team concept.

Probably a bit of both since teams stay pretty secretive about it, but how much value does it really have after the draft. I suppose you may infer a little bit about future picks, but it seems to me to be minimal

It just showed their final grade and stats. But we now know the jags put a higher grade on Philips despite the concussions over Kwity Paye. So you get some insight into what they value and do not. For a new administration I wouldn’t want that out. Come draft time next year teams may know what they value better and can out maneuver them for players they like. That’s the biggest consequence I can think of.

They seem to have a higher value on floor than a lot of teams, amongst them the Colts. Valuing floor is the quickest and easiest way to arrive at Phillips over Paye, as Phillips is a lot more polished and technically sound coming into the league than Paye is, especially when it comes to pass rush.

The problem with concussions is the more you get the more susceptible you are to getting them.

Trauma to the brain is trauma, it makes no difference how you get it. Do you treat a broken arm differently because one guy fell out of a tree and the other guy fell off his bike? He is at increased risk

Still hard for me to believe that it’s harder to get the 1st concussion than any other concussion, there are different levels of concussion severity which is why some guys have to wait longer to return. A hard hit to the head is gonna cause a concussion regardless of it’s your 1st or your 10th concussion
But I’m jus saying Campbell doesn’t put himself in bad position on the football field

I think this is a bit backward. I believe its more like "after the first one, the next ones come easier."
Not that its "harder" for the first, but that once you have had one you are more susceptible to another.

You keep reading and driving at the same time and you are going to end up with a shitload of concussions.
Dont thump your mellon.
Once you have had a concussion, its easier to get another if you continue to do the same stuff that got you the first one. Brain tissue doesnt heal. So if you keep bruising it, it gets worse.
It’s not fair, but a player with a history of concussions well only have more concussions if they keep playing
Chromeburn
05-27-2021, 06:50 PM
But does that rule apply when the concussions weren’t due to football?
I don’t think the rule shifts depending on how you got them. The problem is a lineman knocks helmets almost every play. As a DE that might be somewhat less, and depends on how you play. But let’s say even 50% of the snaps you could knock helmets. Then you have the odds of collisions and tackles. He might be ok. I just don’t see Ballard using a first on a potential injury risk. Remember he passed on Sweat who was a better choice than Sin probably bc of medicals.
Concussions are just a tough thing to gamble on. I like Phillips DE play probably more than anyone in this draft, but I don’t know if I would have gambled a first on him.
